Uncle Skinny

Uncle Skinny

Kenny came over the day to hang out with Oliver and can you guess how Oliver greeted him? By sleeping the whole time :). Oh well! To Oliver’s credit he was already asleep on my chest before Kenny came over but if he sleeps on you that’s his way of saying he’s comfortable¬† – which currently happens a lot so I guess he feels comfortable most of the time.

For Annie’s birthday this year I took her out to eat at “The Melting Pot” just to do something different. Neither of us had been there before and it was quite the experience. All of our food was very delicious and we really enjoyed the fact that it gave us a lot of time to hang out and slowly eat a lot of food. I’m very thankful to have such an awesome wife and believe it or not I actually like to hang out with her :) By the time we left the house ate and got back home it took more than 3 hours and let me tell you the time flew by! The above pictures were taken a few days later when we went to Annie’s parents house to celebrate Mother’s day along with Annie & her grandmother’s birthdays. Oliver got his first opportunity to see what a birthday cake looked like and he wasn’t that interested but I’m sure that will change as time goes by.

The other day when I shot the last video I also took this video. It kind of captures some of the noises that Oliver has been making lately – mainly his little howl. Check it out and see for yourself if our baby sounds like a baby werewolf.

The other day I came home from work and Oliver was in a great mood so Annie asked me to get some video of him hanging out. The above video is the result of that time and Oliver shows off some sweet dance moves. For those of you who don’t know my best dance move is what I like to call the “totem pole” where I basically stand completely still and Annie dances around me. So if he has any dancing rhythm it’s from Annie :) What he may inherit from me is my love for the guitar. I’m trying to give him a head start so he can be really good really fast – if he wants to of course.

Swimming!

This past Sunday after church we went to our Condo pool area and grilled out some food for lunch. We decided to go swimming and since my sister & brother in law live in the same complex they of course were swimming too. They had just purchased a baby float for Oliver’s cousin Jonah to use and when he was done with it we decided to give it a shot with Oliver inside. It was a little too big for him but he looked so funny sitting in it that we took a billion pictures and you can see a good portion of them above. For the most part it seemed like Ollie liked sitting in it and he even smiled a few times.¬† You will also see that he is wearing a red lined hoodie and an extremely too big bathing suit but we thought it looked really cute on him. As cheesy as these comments may seem it’s fun to do things with your child for the first time and see their reaction to totally new things. Almost everyday they are experiencing something new and they experience it with such wonder.

Welcome to my crib…

Over the past week or so we have started putting Oliver to sleep in his crib instead of his bassinet. He looks really tiny in it but he has slept a lot better in the crib and has even slept for about 7 and a half hours several nights without waking up. The other day I had just changed his diaper and I decided to put him in the crib for a little while to see if he would fall asleep. Instead he started smiling and laughing and posing like he was flexing his muscles. I got the biggest kick out of how he always had to have one hand folded up in a fist next to his cheek as if we told him to pose that way. So above you will see a bunch of pictures I took at that time.

Turtle Impersonation

The other day I had come home from work and Oliver was in a really funny mood. He was laughing and making all kinds of different faces and noises. After a while he got sick of the position he was in so I laid down on the bed with my knees together and let him rest against my legs. He started to make some more faces so I tried to capture them with a few pictures. For the most part I wasn’t able to catch him in time but on one of the above pictures in particular I thought he looked really funny.¬† Everyone has been saying to us lately that Oliver kind of looks like a turtle – well in the last picture above I can now see what they are talking about. See for yourself ;)
